Some experiences with the new typo3 version 4.0x

related extension: direct_mail_subscription

the links for approve and delete sent by this extension don't work with thunderbird (while outlook does well)

while assuming a typo3 (fe_adminlib.inc) or extension error, i found nothing helpful via google and the typo3 bugtracker. guessing this could be a mailer specific error, i found a hint at this post. the trick is to wrap the url with quotes. than the links work well with thunderbird also. so at fe_admin_dmailsubscrip.tmpl:

"###THIS_URL######FORM_URL######SYS_SETFIXED_approve###"

 "###THIS_URL######FORM_URL######SYS_SETFIXED_DELETE###"

at be user config > Allowed excludefields the value "pagecontent: subheader" (~untertitel) has to be set

• there is a problem with the php security feature (which is not a problem of typo3, but of the special configuration of the used virtual server)
• any try with chmod -R wwwrun:www (30) or chmod -R user:www (20083) didn't help
• but a change at php.ini did, which is not *really* cool: i turned the safe_mode_gid on, so not the UID but the GID (www) had to fit

1.4. be user and dam

a BE (non-admin) user could not edit the metadata of uploaded files, and no auto-indexing happens.

• check rights, inclusive Tables (modify): Media
• add MEDIA sysfolder to DB mounts
